If you cause any damage during your stay, you are obliged to contact Jysk Ferie as soon as possible. Whether a claim for compensation will be made depends on your choice of insurance.

If Jysk Ferie discovers damage after you have left the rental, a claim for compensation may be made. See more in our rental terms and conditions.

Practical Questions

Is there Wi-Fi in the holiday home?
Most homes offer free Wi-Fi. Check the specific house listing to see if internet is included.

Do we need to bring bed linen and towels?
Yes, you need to bring your own bed linen, towels, tea towels, and dishcloths. In some cases, you can add a linen package when booking – see available options online.

Can we charge an electric car at the holiday home?
Some holiday homes have charging stations for electric cars. Check the house listing for details or contact us if you’re unsure.

How is utility usage settled?

At Jysk Ferie, you do not pay a deposit, and your electricity, water, and heating consumption is settled either at departure or via an invoice by email, depending on where you collected your key:

  • Key box
For houses with a key box, you drive directly to the house, and the consumption form will be on the table when you arrive. You should read the meters upon departure and leave the form on the table. Later, you will receive an invoice by email.

  • Office
If you collect the holiday home key at one of our offices, you will receive a consumption form along with the key, showing the starting readings for electricity, water, and heating. Upon departure, you must read the meters and complete the form, which you bring when returning the key. Payment is then made immediately.

  • Why are the starting readings from before our arrival?
We make sure the house is heated before your arrival so that it is warm and welcoming. For this reason, our staff visits your holiday home before your arrival and turns on the heating.

Call or write to us if you would like more information about the average consumption costs for your desired holiday home.

Many holiday homes offer a barbecue – either charcoal or gas. The barbecue must always be thoroughly cleaned after use. A cleaning fee will be charged if it is returned dirty.

Some holiday homes have bicycles available, but we cannot guarantee their condition. If you wish to use bikes during your stay, we recommend bringing your own or renting from a local bike rental service.

We recommend locking the house and windows whenever you leave the property – even for short trips. Jysk Ferie cannot be held responsible for the theft of personal belongings.

Electric and hybrid vehicles may not be charged at the holiday home unless a certified charging station is installed. Charging via standard power outlets or other non-approved setups is strictly prohibited due to fire risk.

If the property does not have a charging station, we refer you to public charging points in the area. Feel free to contact us if you would like information about the nearest charging locations.

Please remember to check the house thoroughly before departure – it’s easy to forget something. If you leave behind personal belongings, we’ll be happy to help locate and return them to you. Items are sent by parcel post, and shipping costs will be charged to the guest. Forgotten items are stored for up to one month. Jysk Ferie is not responsible for any lost or forgotten belongings.

It is not possible to have mail delivered directly to the holiday home. If you need to receive packages during your stay, please contact us – we may be able to assist through our office, depending on the delivery service.

Please be considerate of neighbours and the surrounding area. Loud music, parties, and other disturbances are not allowed and may lead to complaints. A holiday should be an enjoyable experience for everyone in the area.

All holiday homes are equipped with outdoor furniture for your use. During the peak season, the furniture may experience extra wear, so we recommend protecting it from rain and storing it under cover after use.

If you experience any issues with the holiday home or notice defects or missing items, please contact us as soon as possible. You can visit us at the office or call during our regular opening hours. Outside office hours, you can always reach us via our emergency hotline, which is intended for urgent situations. We are here to help – both during the day and in the evening – if something requires immediate attention.

Smoking is not allowed indoors in any of our holiday homes. Outdoor smoking is permitted, provided it is done respectfully and cigarette butts are disposed of properly.

During storms or power outages, temporary disruptions may occur. If you experience any problems, please contact us and we will do our best to assist you as quickly as possible.

Under the facilities listed for each house, you can see whether a high chair and a crib are available. If these are not provided, you are welcome to contact Jysk Ferie, who can make them available by arrangement.

Waste must be sorted according to local municipal guidelines and disposed of in the designated bins or waste containers at the holiday home. Failure to sort waste correctly may result in an additional fee.

The water in the area is clean and safe to drink but may have a high lime content. We recommend flushing the shower briefly if it hasn’t been used for a while.

Spa Instructions

How to use and maintain your spa correctly

Many spa questions arise because there are three different types of spas, each requiring different handling.

First, identify the type of spa you have — then follow the correct instructions.

Remember: Always wash thoroughly before using the spa.

Flow-through Spa

How to use it correctly:

  • Fill the spa using the tap. When the water level reaches about 15 cm above the top nozzles, you can turn on the side jets to start heating.

  • On many spas, the jets turn off every 20 minutes and must be reactivated.

Important to know:

  • Water must not remain in the spa after use.

  • Use 1 chlorine tablet per person before using the spa.

  • Standing water can lead to bacteria formation.

  • The spa is designed for flow-through use, not water storage.

Common problems:

Problem Cause Solution
Bad odor Water has been standing too long Empty the spa and rinse with clean water
Dirty water Not emptied after use Flush the system
Foam in water Soap residue from body/swimwear Use only clean water, avoid soap
Standing Water Spa

This type of spa is started and heated upon arrival.

Keeping the water clean:

  • Wash thoroughly before use.

  • Fill the spa with water if not already done.

  • Add chlorine according to instructions.

  • Run the filter pump daily.

  • If the water becomes cloudy, contact Jysk Ferie.

Wilderness Spa (heated with wood stove)

A wilderness spa works like a flow-through spa but is heated with a wood stove.

How to use it correctly:

  • Fill the spa with clean water.

  • Only light the fire in the stove after the spa is completely filled.

  • Add 1 chlorine tablet per person.

  • Wait until the water is warm.

  • Empty the spa completely after use.

Important to know:

  • Water must not stay in the wilderness spa for several days.

  • Rinse the spa with clean water after use.

Common problems:

Problem Cause Solution
Cloudy water Water has been standing too long Empty and rinse
Bad odor Water has been standing too long Empty and rinse
Slow heating Too little or damp wood Use dry wood and allow good airflow

How to use the sauna:

Timer

To start the sauna, turn the dial to the right (between 0–3) depending on how long you want the sauna to run. The numbers indicate the number of hours.

Thermostat

Adjust the sauna temperature using the thermostat above. The further to the right the dial is turned, the higher the temperature.

There may be noise from construction sites, as building is permitted during holiday periods from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

Jysk Ferie strives to inform guests about construction noise, but there may also be noise from restaurants, pubs, airplanes, cars, motorboats, and military exercises, which Jysk Ferie is not notified about and therefore has no control over.
